The Lawrence Busker Festival starts today! What’s “busking” you ask? Well it’s this:

Basically, busking is any street performance done for tips. At the Lawrence Busker Festival this weekend, you’ll see magicians, contortionists, musicians, artists, belly dancers, jugglers, sword swallowers, fire dancers, acrobats, living statues, puppeteers, aerial dancers, face painters, balloon artists, and, if you can believe it,  MORE!

The fun starts today and runs through Sunday. You can check the site for a schedule of expected performances, but the real beauty of this event is the spontaneous nature of busking! The unpredictability and pure energy of street performance means you don’t know what you’ll find around the next corner at this awesome festival! It’s free to attend, but do bring some cash to tip the hard-working and talented performers.
